What I find interesting is that a person’s favorite quote comes after a lifestyle choice. The quote has not defined them. The quote has not changed their life. Instead a person feels a certain way and searches for someone who has already said what or how they feel. It seems like people do not feel confident enough to write for themselves. To say something profound. No one tries to capture in words or in writing exactly what they believe or feel or think. Instead they, we, wait until someone has already said it, then we claim it as our own. The same goes for song lyrics or favorite movies. movie lines. The song has already been created. So many times intellegence and individuality is lost in someone else’s words. and in someone else’s script. Their dialog. Their life.
Do not look for something profound from other people to define yourself. Do not steal their words and choose them to be your own. Share them, but do not steal them. Look somewhere else for something profound. Look within yourself, your life, your experience and write, paint, shoot, sing, play, speak, live. more so than words that have already been spoken, you are, I am, an inspiration.
