1 month agoWatching Junebug for the 457th time. Wishing the plane I was boarding was one-way. alone, and to nigeria.
calories and dis-advanced rhetoric have been filling my days to the point at which I think I may throw up.
Disregard the above, or just…don’t, but I have something to disguss. I was enraptured by this preacher I caught on tv the other day. He was disgussing what love is what it isn’t. He said love isn’t a warm feeling, a strong caring, a reliance on each other, lust. He went on to say love was basically a conscious commitment to another person that had no emotional basis.
and it dawned on me all of a sudden
why in the hell would I seek this out.
hi junebug.

I’m so confused.
Is your validity in life created by being married by your twenties? Are you more complete when you decide to begin a family, foster pets, buy a house, go to sleep early?
Forgive me, or don’t, but I’m choosing a different type of “living.”
4 months agofour pounds down and a brand new member of the family.
That is what has been going on with me.
Watched, The Darjeeling Limited, Into the Wild, 10,000 BC, Clerks, 2 Days in Paris, Capote, oh man, I’ve watched so many movies I cant even remember. 10,000 BC was ranked in the three worst movies I’ve ever seen. The other two are Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and August Rush.
Into the Wild was probably ranked in my top all time list. Just go watch all of them except 10,000 BC.
Home stretch of the semester and you probably won’t see my face around too much.

YES!! Finally!!
Swingers, Children of Men, Ghost World, Blood Diamond.
I usually get myself so amped to see a movie that someone tells me is “so me!” Then end up wondering why anyone would think I would like said movie. So hearing over and over again how “me” swingers is made me pretty skeptical from the beginning. It was generally obnoxious, and I loved every minute of it.
Children of Men was a crazy surprise. Never even heard of this movie but found it randomly on netflix tucked in a little cubby and ordered it. and very glad I did so. While it mimicked all the movies about the end of the world, for the most part, the content seemed very original. Beautifully filmed.
And while I do not like any prepubescent drama about the struggles of high school/college life, Ghost World had substance I could pull from. Good ending. but not really one of my favorites.
oh, and I watched We Were Soldiers for the first time. pretty graphic but in general one of the better movies I’ve seen. I’ve come to find out I really love war-related movies.
BLOOD DIAMOND. I loved this movie. I’d passed it in Blockbuster 58 times and thought it looked rediculous but little boys called baby killer carrying round AKs was crazy. somehow, everyone needs to watch this movie.
